The goals of Research centre of clinical chemistry
and haematology are to develop and promote clinical chemistry
and haematology in Slovenia and throughout the world with the following
activities:
- Investigation of laboratory results in the sense of the goals of analytical
quality and clinical utility.
- Co-operation in development of analytical methods, control material
and diagnostic reagents.
- Co-operation with Slovenian External Quality Assessment Scheme of Clinical
Chemistry and haematology (preparation of control materials and logistic
support based on information networks) and international quality schemes.
- Co-operation in the national and international project in the field
of laboratory medicine and educational projects on national level.
- Consulting and educational support to the users of laboratory medicine.
The ultimate goal of Research Centre is preparing the basis for implementation
of the system for certification and accreditation in laboratory medicine
on national level harmonised with standards of Western European Laboratory
Accreditation Co-operation (WELAC).
